On May 23, the first edition of the INNODAY fair took place on Iberdrola's international campus in San Agustín del Guadalix (Madrid), where INGECID presented its anti-scour solution for wind turbines with jacket structures.
INNODAY 2018 was an ideal opportunity to learn about the most innovative initiatives that are transforming the energy sector, to foster the transfer of knowledge and to attract young talent.
It was attended by over 600 visitors who were able to see first-hand how Iberdrola uses drones to inspect wind turbines or see on the spot how an electric car works. They were also able to learn what the interior of a nuclear power plant looks like and go on a virtual visit to the Wikinger offshore wind farm.
Wind farms were the reason INGECID was at the fair, as the company is carrying out a research project in partnership with the Cantabrian Hydraulic Institute (IH Cantabria) and Iberdrola, to optimize anti-scour systems for turbines with jacket structures, the SPJ (Scour Protection Jacket) Project, funded by the I+C=+C program of the Sociedad para el Desarrollo de Cantabria (SODERCAN).
Since it was founded, INGECID has been committed to the wind sector and to innovation to maintain its leading edge in that sector, serving as a model for the young talent and start-ups that attend these conferences.
