The project involves redesigning the BI-4342 road between kilometric points 17+520 and 17+900 to adapt the section to new requirements arising from future industrial developments. Key actions include the construction of a segment of the Ibaizabal cycle path—partly running alongside the BI-4342—and the replacement of certain facilities at the Boroa toll plaza, adding one additional lane to the existing layout.
INGECID’s work focused on the following activities:
- Development of an initial model based on the original project data, which required substantial redesign during the early stages of construction due to major modifications in the project definition.
- Detection of clashes within the initial model, which, once resolved, resulted in the final construction start model.
- BIM-based construction monitoring, including the monthly development of a progressive As-built model to measure key work units and track certification progress. The process concluded with a comprehensive BIM model representing the as-executed works, fully equipped with property sets to support project understanding, integration with the infrastructure operator, and linkage to all documents generated throughout construction.
- Implementation, management, and monitoring of a BIM management system using the VIRCORE Common Data Environment.
