INGECID has participated in the 46th Annual Meeting of the Spanish Nuclear Society (SNE), the most important meeting for professionals and companies in the nuclear sector in Spain, held between October 6 and 8 in Granada.

On this occasion, INGECID gave three presentations:

• In the field of engineering and innovation, Diego Rodríguez presented the paper "Optimization of Steel-plate composite walls for NUHOMS EOS spent fuel storage system".
• In the decommissioning field, Jesús de Paz Sierra presented the paper "VIRCORE. Collaborative platform for the management of nuclear power plant decommissioning projects with digital models".
• In the fuel field, Javier Alonso Sanz presented the paper "COATI. Optimized loading of spent fuel containers in an individualized temporary storage unit."

INGECID also took part in the "Nuclear Industry 4.0" workshop on behalf of ENRESA, together with the GDES, GE Hitachi, Iberdrola, Tecnatom, TotalYmage and Westinghouse companies. This workshop dealt with the latest techniques for the digitalization of industrial environments, virtual reality and augmented reality, among other technologies. Yolanda Hernández, from the Department of Design Engineering and BIM at INGECID, presented the latest advances in the digitalization of processes related to the decommissioning of Nuclear Power Plants.
