INGECID signed a contract with the Donostia–San Sebastián City Council. The project was executed for the Projects and Works Department and it addressed the need for remodeling the Loiola thoroughfare in San Sebastian.

INGECID’s work included comprehensive BIM management throughout the project, as well as the development of both the initial and As-built BIM models. These models enabled clash detection between existing and designed elements and facilitated the production of infographics and videos. The goal of creating this BIM model was to anticipate potential issues during construction and provide a 3D model to support execution.

During the construction phase, an updated tracking model was maintained to support each work certification (5D), along with a final As-built model.

All project management was conducted through the Vircore Common Data Environment (CDE), which was used to share and approve project documentation and BIM models.

The new thoroughfare is 510 meters long and features three traffic lanes. Its construction has significantly improved residents’ quality of life, particularly through the creation of extensive green spaces and a public elevator connecting the new Loiola thoroughfare with the Alto de los Robles.

At the end of the work, the Councilor for Ecology, Marisol Garmendia, pointed out that "the work has been completed in a very positive way. This work has turned around a neighborhood in San Sebastian such as Loiola, which can now enjoy a level of quality in its public spaces of the highest order.
