Within ENRESA's Strategic Systems Plan, a key aspect of optimizing the decommissioning processes of Spanish nuclear power plants is the development of a digital solution that provides agents with tools for the comprehensive management of the waste generated during these processes. This solution will not only incorporate best practice, but will also define future organizational needs to maximize the efficiency of the company’s business processes.

INGECID has been awarded the contract for the design and ad-hoc development of the solution, for a total of €2,938,445.52. The work to be completed in 60 months, and will be based on its VIRCORE comprehensive management platform. The key to the proposal lies in the different modules currently offered by VIRCORE, which can be adapted to meet ENRESA's specific needs. The platform complies with current nuclear and BIM (Building Information Modeling) regulations and is a methodology that is being increasingly adopted by both public bodies and private companies, given the value it adds in improved efficiency and project management.

The INGECID team will develop new tools, equipping the VIRCORE platform with innovative features adapted to the nuclear sector, ranging from the supervision of authorizations and waste management to data analysis and asset monitoring, among other capabilities.

Our experts will carry out an exhaustive analysis to identify and define the specifications that these tools must meet, which will allow them to define and adopt a strategic development plan based on Agile methodologies. This approach will ensure the delivery of minimum viable products, thus facilitating continuous customer interaction throughout the project.

INGECID's proposal will also ensure a constant and secure flow of data and information between the different platforms in ENRESA's technological ecosystem. This will be possible thanks to the flexibility of VIRCORE and its ability to integrate with other solutions. The result will be an interconnected digital solution that will provide ENRESA agents with fast secure access to the most up-to-date information generated during the decommissioning of nuclear power plants, optimizing the processes carried out and increasing their efficiency.
