A new article has been published in the scientific journal Progress in Nuclear Energy, published by Elsevier, with contributions authored by INGECID's Sara Pérez, Jokin Rico and Javier Alonso.
The article is the result of INGECID's partnership with the LADICIM group and the Department of Modern Physics at the University of Cantabria.
It studies the gamma and neutron radiation attenuation properties of concrete made with materials that improve its shielding capacity. Drawing on our experience with calculation codes for the transport of Monte Carlo particles, we have been able to carry out simulations to validate the experimental behavior of radiation as it passes through these materials.
INGECID has an ongoing commitment to research and public-private cooperation to generate scientific knowledge and improve our products and services.
