The new TRAM viaduct over the Quisi ravine has been brought into service, allowing the new trains introduced by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana as part of the modernization plan for Line 9 to run across. INGECID was responsible for site management and coordinating health and safety, heading a joint venture formed with AINGENIA RESEARCH AND CONSULTING SL and Degree of Freedom, under a contract for sites management, technical assistance and health and safety coordination services for the "Quisi Viaduct construction project in the Calp-Teulada section of line 9 in the Alicante TRAM network", which is managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana.
The project, with a total budget of €9.8 million, will allow the dual trains that run between Dénia and Calp to do so directly without the need for transfers. The last phase consisted of connecting the new viaduct to the existing line, which involved having to interrupt rail traffic for 10 days for track assembly work, welding, connections and testing, before trains could circulate with passengers.
