INGECID, a member of the Nuclear Industry Cluster of Cantabria (CINC), visited the Santa María de Garoña Nuclear Power Plant on the morning of October 10, 2018, as a guest of NUCLENOR.

INGECID was represented by technical director, Jokin Rico, and head of nuclear engineering, Javier Alonso.

The visitors learned about the various phases of this new decommissioning stage, in particular those areas where the Nuclear Industry Cluster of Cantabria could work and add value. The visit also highlighted Garoña's relationship with some of the companies in the Cluster, including ENSA which supplies special equipment and services, and INGECID, which is producing a 3D model of the entire plant using a novel BIM methodology called NPPIM (Nuclear Power Plant Information Modelling).
